Eugène Chiquet

Eugène Marie Louis Chiquet , called Eugène Chiquet (born September 8, 1863 in Limeray , Indre-et-Loire department , † around 1935) was a French painter and engraver.

Life

Chiquet studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris , mostly with Louis Pierre Henriquel-Dupont ( copper engraving ) and Alexandre Cabanel ( oil painting ). With the support and help of his teachers, he was able to take part in the major annual exhibition of the Salon de Paris from 1885 .

In 1886 a painting by Chiquet was awarded the Prix ​​de Rome and two years later he was awarded a second grand prix . Between 1890 and 1925, Chiquet regularly took part in the major exhibitions of the Société des Artistes Français in Paris and was also awarded a silver medal in 1903.
