Eugène Criqui

Eugène Criqui (* 15. August 1893 in Paris , France ; † 7. July 1977 ) was a French boxer in the featherweight .

In his first two professional fights, the left wingman boxed only a draw. On February 14, 1912 he became French champion. In June 1923 Criqui boxed against the American Johnny Kilbane for the universal world championship and defeated him by TKo in round 6. However, he lost the belt in his first title defense on October 6 of the same year to Johnny Dundee by a unanimous decision of the judge.

In 2005 Criqui was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame .
