Eugène Deully
Eugène Auguste François Deully (born November 16, 1860 in Lille , † December 6, 1933 in Paris ) was a French genre and nude painter.
Eugène Deully was trained by his father in Lille and studied from 1881 at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris in the studio of the painter Jean-Léon Gérôme . He continued his studies with Auguste-Barthélemy Glaize , then with his son Pierre-Paul-Léon Glaize .
He exhibited at the Salon de Paris and received an Honorable Mention in 1888, a third class medal in 1889, and a first class medal in 1892. In 1892 he received a travel grant. He took part in the Paris World Exhibition in 1900 , where he received a bronze medal.
In 1897 he was appointed general curator of the museums of Lille and held the post until 1912. He was also professor of the course for artistic anatomy drawing and painting at the École nationale des arts industriels in Roubaix .
Deully was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor and awarded the Belgian Leopold Order.
