Eugênio José Guilherme de Aragão (born May 7, 1959 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian lawyer and politician .

Aragão completed his law degree in Brasília in 1982 . In 1994 he wrote his master's thesis at the University of Essex on a subject in international law. From 2001 to 2004 he was at the Ruhr University Bochum and did his doctorate with Joachim Wolf .

Eugênio Aragão has worked for the Brazilian Public Prosecutor's Office ( Ministério Público Federal ) since 1987 and was Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor (Vice-Procuradoria-Geral da República, PGR) from 2013 to 2015 until a dismissal with Chief Public Prosecutor Rodrigo Janot . At the beginning of 2016 he was nominated as Minister of Justice by President Dilma Rousseff . His term of office only lasted from March 14th to May 12th 2016, as right-wing circles opposed him.
