Eugene Czaplewski
Alexander Emil Hermann Eugen Czaplewski (born November 17, 1865 in Koenigsberg (Prussia) , † November 15, 1945 in Cologne ) was a German hygienist and university professor in Koenigsberg and Cologne.
Life
Czaplewski studied medicine at the Albertus University in Königsberg and the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . In Königsberg he was awarded Dr. med. PhD. He then worked as an assistant in the pathology department at the Eberhard Karls University and in the Hamburg Institute of Hygiene . In 1894 he qualified as a professor for hygiene and bacteriology with Erwin von Esmarch in Königsberg . In 1897 he became director of the new bacteriological laboratory in Königsberg. Professor since 1908, he was accepted into the teaching body when the University of Cologne was founded in 1919 .
