Eugen Mörike

Eugen Hermann Mörike (born August 21, 1854 in Göppingen ; † February 27, 1936 in Stuttgart ) was a Württemberg civil engineer and politician.

Life

Eugen Mörike was the son of the civil engineer Theodor Wilhelm Mörike (1825–1863) in Göppingen and the Ottilie Rosalie Marie born. Werner (1827-1919). In 1886 he married Marie Gaupp (1860–1931) and they had four children: Gertrud, Richard, Hedwig and Elsbeth. However, Elsbeth died just two days after the birth.

Mörike was a government master builder with the title of senior building officer . He taught as a professor at the TH Stuttgart . From 1905 to 1907 he was elected rector of the university , and in 1919 he retired .

From 1907 to 1912 he was a representative of the TH Stuttgart in the Württemberg state parliament . He had been elected by the Academic Senate to succeed the retired Jakob Johann von Weyrauch .
