Saint-Léger-Magnazeix , Occitan Sent allo Manhasés , is a French community in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine , in Haute-Vienne , in district Bellac and in Canton Châteauponsac . It borders in the northwest with Lussac-les-Églises , in the north with Jouac , in the northeast with Cromac , in the east with Mailhac-sur-Benaize , in the southeast with Saint-Hilaire-la-Treille , in the south with Dompierre-les-Églises and in the southwest on Magnac-Laval .
history
In 1172 the Grammontensian priory Les Bronzeaux with the Grammontensian name Brondellis was founded in Saint-Léger-Magnazeix . The house of the priory is now a monument historique .
During the French Revolution the place was called "Léger-le-Peuple".
