It is bordered by Bonneuil to the north, Beaulieu to the northeast, Cromac to the east, Saint-Léger-Magnazeix to the south, Lussac-les-Églises to the southwest and Saint-Martin-le-Mault to the west . The village is on average 200 meters above sea level and is crossed by the Benaize . The residents call themselves Jouacais or Jouacaises.
