Life

Mustafa Murza Achmatowicz came from a noble family ( Szlachta ).

In 1786 he was Rittmeister in the regiment of the IV Vanguard under General Józef Bielak , where he was lieutenant colonel in 1794 . In May 1794 he was sent from Slonim to Novaya Mish during the Kościuszko uprising and suffered defeat when he met the Russian vanguard of Pavel Dmitrijewitsch Zizianow's corps . In August 1794 he allied himself with his regiment with the regiment of Stefan Grabowski and took part under his command in the campaign against Belarus. On November 4, 1794, he was taken prisoner by the Russians near Ljuban , which lasted until 1795.

In 1812 he received approval from the General Confederation and the Governor of Lithuania Dirk van Hogendorp to set up a Uhlan regiment in Vilnius together with Abraham Murza Korycki and Samuel Ułan . For this purpose he published an appeal to the Lithuanian Tatars on October 23, 1812. However, he only managed to form a squadron that was incorporated into the 1st Polish Uhlan Regiment by Napoleon Bonaparte . At that time, Achmatowicz was issuing some patriotic appeals to the Tatar people.
