Compreignac ( Occitan : Comprenhac ) is a French commune with 1,838 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the north of the Haute-Vienne department . It belongs to the arrondissement of Bellac and the canton of Bellac (until 2015: canton of Nantiat ). The inhabitants call themselves " Compreignacois ".

geography

Compreignac is about 18 kilometers north of Limoges on the Vincou , which rises here. Compreignac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Razès in the northeast, Saint-Sylvestre in the east, Bonnac-la-Côte in the south, Saint-Jouvent in the southwest, Thouron in the west and Saint-Pardoux-le-Lac with Saint-Symphorien-sur-Couze in the Northwest and Saint-Pardoux to the north.

The A20 autoroute runs through the east of the municipality .
