location

Neighboring municipalities are Berneuil in the north, Chamboret in the east and Vaulry in the south and west. The municipality is affected by the Glayeule river .

history

The body of SS-Sturmbannführer Helmut Kampf , whose kidnapping led to the massacre of Oradour-sur-Glane , was buried anonymously in the village before his remains were reburied in the Berneuil military cemetery in 1963 .

Attractions

  • The village church "Église de la Décollation-de-Saint-Jean-Baptiste" was built in the 13th century. It has been recognized as a historic monument since December 13, 1978 .
  • Two of the five trapezoidal Dolmen de la Betoulle are located in the municipality of Breuilaufa. They were recognized as Historic Monuments on June 21, 1982.
