Nantiat ( Occitan : Nantiac ) is a municipality with 1,598 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the north of the Haute-Vienne department in France . Nantiat belongs to the arrondissement of Bellac and the canton of Bellac (until 2015: canton of Nantiat ). The inhabitants call themselves Nantiauds .

geography

Nantiat is about 21 kilometers north-northwest of Limoges . Nantiat is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Pardoux-le-Lac with Roussac in the north, Le Buis in the northeast, Thouron in the east, Saint-Jouvent in the south and southeast, Peyrilhac in the south and southwest, Chamboret in the west and Berneuil in the northwest.

The former Route nationale 711 runs through the municipality .
