Eugen Steigleder (born July 26, 1876 in Stuttgart ; † December 15, 1941 there ) was a German architect .

Life

Steigleder learned from Heinrich Dolmetsch , L. Rauscher and Carl Walter . Between 1906 and 1913 he worked in partnership with Albert Eitel . After joint drafts, a number of interesting villas were created in exposed locations in Stuttgart , B. in the Humboldtstraße, the Haußmannstraße or the Gerokstraße, next to it in the Hasenbergsteige , the Fraasstraße and the Hillerstraße.

Significant buildings that emerged from the collaboration with Albert Eitel are the Alte Schauspielhaus in Stuttgart , built in 1909 as a private theater for the Stuttgarter Theaterbau AG, or the “Charlottenbau” of the Stuttgart Karl Olga Hospital and the Villa Gemmingen, built between 1910 and 1911 .

In 1913 or 1914 Eitel and Steigleder separated, Steigleder kept the office at the old address and now operated as an architecture and applied arts office. The Rotenbergstrasse housing estate was built in 1919–1920 based on his designs .
