Eugene Jantjies (born August 10, 1986 in Gobabis , South West Africa ) is a Namibian rugby player and national record player for his country. Jantjies plays in rugby union on the position of the scrum half .
Career
societies
Between 2004 and 2007 Jantjies played for the Western Suburbs in the Namibian capital Windhoek . He then moved to Romania and played until 2010 and again from 2012 to 2014 for Farul Constanța's rugby team . In the meantime he was employed as a player for the Namibian national team ( Welwitschias ) at the South African Vodacom Cup in 2010 and 2011. In 2012 he played there for the Leopards . In 2015 Jantjies moved again to Romania to CS Dinamo București . In 2016 he competed with the Welwitschias in the Currie Cup in South Africa.
National team
Jantjies has played in the Namibian national rugby union team since 2006 . He made his debut on May 27, 2006 against Kenya . As of September 30, 2019, he competed 69 times with the national team. He participated in the Rugby Union World Cups in 2007 , 2011 , 2015 and 2019 .
