The record national player is the person who has achieved the most appearances for their national team in a sport .

World record holder by time period

The record-breaking Saudi Arabian national player Mohammad ad-Daʿayyaʿ was the world record holder for several years, initially with 182 and then 178 games, until it was reported that he was replaced by Ahmed Hassan . In August and September 2013, the number of Saudi Arabian players was re-listed, with the number of international matches also being reduced to 172 for Mohammad ad-Daʿayyaʿ. After that he was never a world record holder.
