List of national soccer players

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This list of record national football players shows the respective record national players of the individual countries, as far as known, separated by continent .

In some cases (Bozsik, Michajlow, Streich), FIFA does not count games at the Olympic Games (see notes). At Onopko, the number (113 or 109) depends on whether games for the CIS are included. FIFA sometimes counts national team matches against FIFA all-start teams. On the other hand, matches against non-FIFA members are not counted by FIFA, even if they were played at continental championships. The FIFA figures are not always up-to-date (see web links for the status). For players with fewer than 100 games, in most cases (player did not take part in the last World Cup) no figures are available. In these cases, only the RSSSF statistics or, for European players, eu-football.info are available as a source in addition to the national associations (see sources).

Players in bold are still active in their national teams. However , players in italics have not been used for at least 6 months when international matches were played.
* The player was at times world record holder.
** The player is also his country's record scorer.
