Ildefons Lima Solà (born December 10, 1979 in Barcelona , also spelled Ildefonso ) is an Andorran football player . He plays in the position of defender and is the captain of the Andorran national team . With eleven goals, Lima is the record scorer in his country and one of the few professional footballers from Andorra.
Career
In the club
Lima played in the 2002/03 season at UD Las Palmas and moved to Polideportivo Ejido for the 2003/04 season . For the 2004/05 season Lima moved to Deportivo Alavés . Since the 2005/06 season he has been playing for the Serie B club US Triestina . In his early days at Triestina, he played as a striker and not in his traditional position as a central defender, so his performances were correspondingly mediocre. Two of the best central defenders in Triestina left the club during the winter break, which is why Lima was used regularly. After his time in Italy, he moved to Switzerland for AC Bellinzona in 2009 to join his old club US Triestina after only two seasons. In 2012 he finally returned to his homeland and has since played for the clubs FC Andorra and FC Santa Coloma in the Primera Divisió . In 2018 he joined Inter Club d'Escaldes .
National team
Lima made his debut for the national team at the age of 17, scoring his first goal against Estonia on June 22, 1997 . Andorra lost the game 4-1. With eleven goals scored (as of March 26, 2018), Lima is currently the record scorer in Andorra's national team. As Andorra's second player after Óscar Sonejee , Lima played his 100th international match on June 1, 2016 . On August 15, 2017, he beat Sonejee's national record with his 107th international match. He is also the team captain.
