Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto (born July 13, 1976 in Magelang ) is a former Indonesian soccer player who was most recently under contract with Pro Duta FC . He is the current record player for the Indonesian national soccer team with 59 games and 33 goals. His nickname kurus literally means slim . That means his slim figure.
Career
society
Kurniawan is one of the lesser Indonesian players who made it to Europe at a young age . In his last year in youth he played for the Italian club Sampdoria Primavera . He later played two seasons in the Swiss league for FC Luzern . After his time at FC Luzern, he was sent back to Indonesia because the non-EU player limit in the Swiss league had been exceeded, he had many injuries and an extreme loss of form and was allegedly addicted to drugs and nightlife. He was the first Indonesian player to play in the UI Cup . Kurniawan also took part in the AFC Champions League and the now defunct Asian Cup Winner's Cup .
In the late 1990s he was involved in a drug scandal and was kicked out of the national team, but that decision was reversed shortly afterwards. He was already under contract with many other Indonesian teams, such as B. PSM Makassar , PSPS Pekanbaru , Persebaya Surabaya , Persija Jakarta and also at PSS Sleman .
He won the Indonesia Super League twice , in 2000 with PSM Makassar and in 2004 with Persebaya Surabaya . In 2000 he scored 23 goals for PSM Makassar and landed on the scorers list in second place with one goal less than Bambang Pamungkas . During the 1997/1998 season he was in between leading the scorers list, but due to the Asian crisis , the season was canceled and thus no champion and no top scorer was certain. After the stations Persela Lamongan , PSMS Medan and Tangerang Wolves FC , most recently he played for Pro Duta FC .
National team
Kurniawan competed for the Indonesian national team in numerous competitions, including Olympic qualifications, World Cup qualifications, Southeast Asian Games , the ASEAN Soccer Cup and the Asian Cup .
A lot of hope was placed on his shoulder and also on the other Indonesian players from the Sampdoria Primavera team , who were trained in Italy for a total of two years. They were supposed to qualify for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta before failing to South Korea . To this day, he is one of the most famous names in Indonesian football.
