Andrius Skerla (born April 29, 1977 in Vilnius , Lithuanian SSR ) is a Lithuanian football assistant coach, former football player and national record player for his country .

Career
societies
He began his career in 1995 at his local club Vilnius FK Žalgiris and in 1998 moved to the Dutch honorary division PSV Eindhoven , for whom he played only 25 games within two years. More successful was his engagement with the Scottish first division club Dunfermline Athletic , where he was immediately used in the starting eleven and for whom he worked for a total of five years. During this time he received offers from other Scottish clubs, including a. the Glasgow Rangers , but stayed in Dunfermline , with whose team he reached the 2004 Cup final, which was lost to league rivals Celtic Glasgow with 1: 3; Skerla scored the only goal for his club.
This was followed by brief engagements with the Russian first division promoted Tom Tomsk , the Lithuanian first division club Vėtra Vilnius and the Polish first division club Korona Kielce , before he signed a contract with league rivals Jagiellonia Białystok in 2008 .
National team
He played his first international match for Lithuania on November 3, 1996 in a 4-0 win against Indonesia and then played in all European and World Cup qualifications, but could not qualify with Lithuania for any World or European Championship. On June 4, 2008 he replaced Aurelijus Skarbalius as Lithuania's record international player with his 66th international match, which Lithuania lost 4-1 to Russia in Burghausen .
Trainer
Since 2014 he has been assistant to “ Žalgiris ” head coach Marek Zub . He also remained in office under his successor Valdas Dambrauskas . As an assistant coach, he won the Lithuanian championship in 2014, 2015 and 2016 . He left the club at the end of 2017. Since the beginning of 2019 he has been assistant to the new national coach Valdas Urbonas .
