Career
Club career
Pacheco began his active football career in 1996 in his hometown with the CD FAS . Until 1999 he was mainly used in the club's youth teams. From 2000 he made it into the club's combat team, which has its game operations in the highest Salvadoran league, the Primera División de Fútbol Profesional . In the years 2000 to 2001 Pacheco was only used in the reserve team, but thanks to consistently good performances in 2001 he made the step into the professional team. In the Primera División he made his debut on March 3, 2001 in the game against CD Municipal Limeño . In 2005 he was named captain of the team. Pacheco celebrated a number of successes with CD FAS, such as receiving the championship title five times in the format of Apertura and Clausura . By July 2, 2009 he had 217 championship appearances for FAS and a record of 32 goals.
On February 18, 2009 it was announced that Juan Carlos Osorio , coach of the North American MLS club New York Red Bulls, had traveled to El Salvador. In the hope of getting Pacheco into his team, several negotiations took place after the New Yorkers had watched the Salvadoran for a few months. Not only the league missions were followed by the NYRB scouts , but Pacheco's missions in qualifying for the 2010 World Cup and his performance in the UNCAF Nations Cup 2009 were also observed. Initially, receipt of Pacheco's loan contract was confirmed by the New York Red Bulls office on March 5th, but due to problems with his International Transfer Card (ITC), the club did not release an official press release by April 17th. In the meantime, the Salvadoran started training with the Red Bulls on April 7th. Only eleven days later, on April 18, 2009, he came to his first appearance in MLS, when he was in the match against Real Salt Lake for the full length of the game. After getting off to a strong start with the New Yorkers, his loan was ended before the term ran out after a few unsuccessful games.
International
Among other things, Pacheco gained a lot of experience with the U-20 selection in his home country , for which he scored two goals in 14 games from 2000 to 2002. At his next station, the U-21 selection, he came to five games and two hits in 2002. In 2003, six appearances and two goals in the national dress of the Salvadoran U-23 team followed. He made his debut appearance in the national soccer team of El Salvador on November 17, 2002 in a friendly against the USA . Pacheco scored his first goal on July 19, 2003 in a game in the 2003 CONCACAF Gold Cup against the national team of Costa Rica .
