Saulius Mikoliūnas (born May 2, 1984 in Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian football player . He has been playing at Arsenal Kiev since 2009 in the Ukrainian Premjer-Liha , the highest Ukrainian league.

Career

Mikoliūnas began his career at Vilnius FC , which he joined in 2002. In 2003 he played for the first time in the top Lithuanian league and was seventh straight away with the club. In 2004 he signed a contract with FBK Kaunas , where he was champion, cup winner and Supercup winner in his first season.

In January 2005, he moved on loan to Heart of Midlothian to Scotland . With the runner-up title and the cup victory in 2006 there was a successful debut for Mikoliūnas. In 2006/07 the club played in the Champions League qualification. The Lithuanian came against NK Široki Brijeg and AEK Athens to four missions, but the team was eliminated despite a Mikoliūnas goal against the Greeks . He was used in this season's UEFA Cup . 2006/07 the fourth place in the championship could be achieved. After eighth place in 2007/08 and three in 2008/09, he turned his back on the British Isles and moved to the Ukraine at Arsenal Kiev .

In his debut season in the Ukrainian Premjer-Liha , the attacking midfielder finished seventh with his club.

He has played 34 times for the Lithuanian national team and scored two goals (against Georgia and Romania ). He made his debut in 2004.
