Gabriel Enrique Gómez Giron (born May 29, 1984 in Panama City ) is a Panamanian football player and national record player for his country. He has been playing for Atlético Bucaramanga in the Colombian Categoría Primera A since 2017 .

Career

Club career

Gómez began his career in Panama with Envigado FC and San Francisco FC . In 2004 he moved abroad, to Colombia, to Deportivo Pasto . After he only made five appearances there, he returned to Panama for Tauro FC , but moved back to Colombia in the same year, to Deportivo Pereira . There he could not really assert himself either and went to Santa Fe in 2006 . There he established himself as a regular player, so that clubs from Europe noticed him. So it came about that he was loaned to Belenenses Lisbon for the 2007/08 season . There he was able to prevail and Belenenses made use of the purchase option. The Portuguese paid € 300,000 for Gómez to Santa Fe.

In the summer of 2010 he moved to Ermis Aradippou in Cyprus . He was released from work after six months. In 2011 he played for La Equidad in Colombia .

National team

Gómez made his debut for the Panama national team in 2003 in a game against El Salvador . Since then, he has completed a total of 119 international matches, scoring 12 goals. He made his 100th game on June 3, 2014 against Brazil .
