Predrag Mijatović (born January 19, 1969 in Titograd , SFR Yugoslavia ), nickname "Peđa", is a former Yugoslav or Montenegrin football player . From July 2006 to May 2009 he was Sports Director at Real Madrid . His greatest achievement was winning the 1998 UEFA Champions League with Real Madrid when he scored the winning goal in the final against Juventus Turin and helped Real Madrid win their first championship or Champions League title in 32 years.
Career
At club level, Mijatović played for FK Partizan Belgrade (1987–1988 and 1989–1993), FK Budućnost Titograd (1988–1989), FC Valencia (1993–1996), Real Madrid (1996–1999), AC Florence (1999–2002) and UD Levante (2002-2003). From 1989 to 2003 he played 73 international matches , first for the Yugoslav national football team , then for the Serbian-Montenegrin national soccer team . During his playing days, Yugoslavia was banned from all football competitions for four years as a result of the UN sanctions imposed on the country. After the suspension was lifted, he and his national team took part in the 1998 World Cup and the 2000 European Championship .
Mijatović 'nephew Đorđije Ćetković played from 2006 to 2009 in the Bundesliga and 2nd Bundesliga with Hansa Rostock and VfL Osnabrück.
