Damiano Vannucci (born July 30, 1977 ) is a former San Marinese football player .

Career

In the club

Vannucci began his career in 1997 at AS Real Misano in Italy and was then active in various Italian amateur teams, with whom he played in Eccellenza and Promozione , among others . In 2003 he moved to the SS Virtus , with whom he acted in the Campionato Sammarinese di Calcio , the national San-Marinese championship. The following year he moved to AC Juvenes / Dogana and then to AC Libertas , where he played for three years. In 2008 he moved back to the Italian amateur leagues to Perticara Calcio. From there he returned to his homeland a year later and has since played for SS Virtus, AC Juvenes / Dogana, SP La Fiorita and SS Folgore / Falciano . He ended his career at the end of the 2013/14 season.

In the San Marinese league Vannucci was twice top scorer, once in the 1997/98 season with 21 goals and in the 2003/04 season with 15 goals.

National team

He played his first international game on October 9, 1996 in a 3-0 draw against Belgium in World Cup qualification . He was also part of the team that suffered the biggest defeat against Germany on September 6, 2006, 0:13 . On February 11, 2009, he outbid Mirco Gennari's previous record with his 49th game and was the sole record holder of San Marino for a while, until he was overtaken by Andy Selva himself . He took part in all European and World Cup qualifications with San Marino between 1996 and 2010, but was never able to qualify for a World or European Championship with San Marino. The only victory came in a friendly on April 28, 2004 in Serravalle 1-0 against Liechtenstein .
