Savo Milošević ( Serbian - Cyrillic Саво Милошевић ; born September 2, 1973 in Bijeljina , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a former Serbian football player and current coach .

Career

He played for FK Partizan Belgrade from 1992 to 1995 , then for Aston Villa until 1998 . He then moved to Real Saragossa , where he was under contract until 2000. Other player stations were AC Parma in 2000/01 , Real Saragossa in 2002, Espanyol Barcelona in 2002/03 and Celta Vigo in 2003/04 . In summer 2004 he moved to CA Osasuna . In his last professional year in 2008 he was under contract with Rubin Kazan and became Russian champion, his first title after 1996 when he became the English league cup winner with Aston Villa.

For the Yugoslav national soccer team (from 2003 Serbian-Montenegrin national soccer team ) Milošević made his debut on December 23, 1994 in Porto Alegre in the game against Brazil , which they lost 2-0. To this day, Milošević is the record player (101) and record scorer (35) of the Yugoslav and Serbian-Montenegrin national football team. His last game for this took place on November 19, 2008 against Bulgaria. In that game he missed two penalties and scored two goals. (Final score: 6: 1).

At the European Championships 2000 in Belgium and the Netherlands, Milošević was top scorer with five goals together with Patrick Kluivert . At the 2006 World Cup, he was captain of the national team.
