Dražan Jerković (born August 6, 1936 in Šibenik , Kingdom of Yugoslavia , † December 9, 2008 in Zagreb , Croatia ) was a Yugoslav football player and coach .

Career as a player

During his club career, the 1.86 m tall striker played for Dinamo Zagreb from July 1955 to June 1965 and for KAA Gent from July 1965 to June 1966 . With Dinamo he won the championship in 1958 and the cup in 1960/65. During his time at Dinamo Zagreb, he scored 300 goals in 315 games.

Career as a coach

His active football career came to an early end at its height due to serious injuries and he worked as a coach from 1966. Jerković was able to continue his passive career from 1990 to 1992 as the first coach of the Croatian national team .

National team

Jerković played as a striker for the Yugoslav national team in the tournaments in Sweden ( World Cup 1958 ), in France ( EURO 1960 , 2 appearances, 2 goals) and in Chile ( World Cup 1962 , 6 appearances, 4 goals). In total, he stormed for the national team of Yugoslavia in 21 games and scored 11 goals.
