François Heutte (born February 21, 1938 in Chaumont-en-Vexin ) is a former French football player .

Club stations

The striker began his career as a professional player in 1956 with second division FC Rouen , where he was appointed to the junior national team for the first time during the first half of the season and was signed by Lille OSC at the end of the season . After a very successful season for the club in 1957/58 - the promoted team finished the year in sixth place in the first division  - relegation followed twelve months later. Heutte then moved to the capital club Racing Club de France , where he played for five years and narrowly missed the championship title twice . In the 1961/62 season in particular, it was a razor-thin decision, as Stade Reims only overtook Paris and Olympique Nîmes on the last day of the match , and only because of a slightly better goal quotient: Today's club was missing a single goal.

In 1964, the striker moved to AS Saint-Étienne , which, however, could not defend their title from the previous season, and from there returned to Lille in 1965. With this club he had to go to the barrages at the end of the season , where he helped to prevent relegation. Today switched again, this time to the newly ascended Stade Reims; there he denied the 1966/67 season on the side of Raymond Kopa , but despite the routine of these two attackers, the red and whites failed to keep the class. Heutte then played in Division 2 , but no longer for Reims, but at EAC Chaumont ; a return to the football upper house with this club did not succeed. In 1969 he was therefore drawn back to the club where he had spent his best years in sport: with RC Paris he rose from the Division d'Honneur to the third division and ended his career in 1972.

In the national team

Between December 1959 and December 1961, François Heutte came to nine A-internationals with the Équipe tricolore ; he also scored four goals in this circle, two of them in the semi-final, lost 4-5 against Yugoslavia at the European Championship finals in 1960 . His last appearance at the Bleus was the playoff against Bulgaria in Milan (0-1), which caused France to miss the 1962 World Cup . For Denis Chaumier, the "elegant dribbler and determined goalscorer" could have made significantly more appearances had he "developed more maturity and not always remained a 'big kid'".

Life after the active time

Heutte started his own business in Paris in the early 1970s, initially with an outerwear store, then as a sales representative and later with a small forwarding company.
