Héctor Eduardo Chumpitaz González (born April 12, 1944 in Cañete , Peru ) is a former Peruvian football player .

The El granítico called Chumpitaz began his career in 1963 in the Segunda División at Unidad Vecinal . From 1964 to 1965 he was in the ranks of Deportivo Municipals . He then played from 1966 to 1975 for Universitario de Deportes . During his membership in the Peruvian capital club, he won the Peruvian championship five times with his teammates (1966, 1967, 1969, 1971 and 1974) and was in the finals of the Copa Libertadores in 1972 , where his club was ultimately defeated by the Argentine representative CA Independiente . In 1976 he moved to Mexico to Atlas Guadalajara . In the following year he moved on to Sporting Cristal , where he finally ended his career in 1984 after he was allowed to add the title in the Peruvian championships to his success statistics three more times in 1979, 1980 and 1983. At international club level, he completed a total of 74 games in the Copa Libertadores between 1966 and 1984 for Universitario and Sporting Cristal . He scored eight hits.

National team

The defender was a member of the Peruvian national soccer team , took part with it in the soccer world championship in 1970 and 1978 and won the Copa America with it in 1975 . He made a total of 105 international matches for his home country, in which he scored three personal goals.
