Marco Antonio Sandy Sansusty (born August 29, 1971 in Cochabamba ) is a former Bolivian football player who was mostly used in central defense .

Club career

Sandy spent most of his career at his hometown club Bolívar , but left it three times before returning after a brief stint at his new club. He made a total of 393 games for Bolívar and made 53 appearances at his other clubs, including Real Valladolid in Spain and Gimnasia de Jujuy in Argentina .

Career in the national team

Sandy made his debut in the national team on January 29, 1993 in a friendly against Honduras in Cochabamba , which they won 3-1.

After this game, Sandy was used in another 92 games in his country, scoring six goals. He took part in the Soccer World Cup in 1994 in the USA , but retired with Bolivia in a group with Germany , Spain and South Korea after the preliminary round as bottom of the table.

His last international match was only ten years later in a qualifier for the World Cup in Germany , which was lost 2-1 to Venezuela . With 93 internationals, he and Luis Cristaldo are the record national players in Bolivia.
