Eugenio Martín

Eugenio Martín (born May 15, 1925 in Ceuta ; full name Eugenio Martín Márquez ) is a Spanish director and screenwriter .

Life

Martín's family had to flee to Granada due to the civil war , where he grew up. He studied at the University of Granada Law ; after the publication of a volume of poetry, he made a few short films in the mid to late 1950s . His feature film career began in the late 1950s as an assistant director in the larger productions Sindbad's Seventh Journey (1958) and The Three Worlds of Gulliver (1960). This was followed by films of mostly adventurous material in his own productions, and a few spaghetti westerns at the end of the 1960s . In 1972 he made the horror film Horror-Express, a later cult film.

In 2008 his biography "Eugenio Martin un autor para todos los generos" was published.

In most of the films he used the pseudonyms Eugenio Martin , Eugen Martin , Gene Martin or Jean Martin . He is married to the Danish actress Lone Fleming .
