history

After Arthur Eugster started producing electrical household appliances such as egg cookers and waffle irons in 1976 , he founded Frismag AG in Amriswil with his brother Markus in 1978 and began assembling coffee machines. The company had its breakthrough in 1984 with an inexpensive espresso machine that generated high sales in the USA. In 1989 a subsidiary was founded in Portugal for the assembly of coffee machines. At the beginning of the 1990s, further production sites were opened in Switzerland and in 1994 the first fully automatic coffee machine was brought onto the market. In 1995 the individual companies were merged to form Eugster / Frismag AG and the group headquarters relocated to Romanshorn. In 1997 a partnership for the production of filter coffee machines was entered into in China, which was transferred to a joint venture company in 2005.
