Euphorbia barbicollis is a species of the genus spurge ( Euphorbia ) in the family of Euphorbiaceae (Euphorbiaceae).

description

The succulent Euphorbia barbicollis forms perennial herbaceous plants with a few, approximately 5 millimeter thick sprouts from a bulbous, 12 centimeter long and 4 centimeter wide root . The climbing shoots are up to 1 meter long and are only slightly branched. They are about 2 millimeters thick, have few hairs and are ephemeral. The linear leaves are 35 millimeters long and 3 millimeters wide. They are succulent and sparsely hairy.

Individual cyathia are formed, which are about 7 millimeters in size and are almost sitting. The five elliptical nectar glands have two to four, up to 1.3 millimeters long appendages on the outer edges. At the base of each short stalk of the nectar glands there is a tuft of short hair. The elongated fruit is about 5 millimeters in size, is covered with hair and stands on a protruding and bent back stem that is up to 6 millimeters long. The elongated seed becomes 3 millimeters long and 2 millimeters wide. On the wrinkled surface of the seed there are a small number of large, flat warts. The seed appendage becomes 0.75 millimeters wide.
