The succulent Euphorbia colubrina forms shrubs up to 15 centimeters in diameter with intensive branching. The square shoots are spread out and are up to 25 centimeters long and 8 millimeters thick. They branch out into short side shoots that protrude at right angles. They are dark green in color and have light stripes. Flat teeth are formed on the edges, spaced 5 to 10 millimeters apart. The elongated thorn shields are up to 6 millimeters long and 2 millimeters wide. Thorns up to 18 millimeters in length are formed.

The inflorescence consists of single and simple cymes , which stand on 1 to 2 millimeter long stems. The cyathia reach 2.5 millimeters in diameter. The elongated nectar glands are cloudy yellow in color and butt against each other. The clearly lobed fruit is about 2 millimeters in size and stands on a stalk that is bent back and up to 4 millimeters long. It contains the egg-shaped seed, which is 1.25 millimeters long and 1 millimeter wide. The surface is covered with very small wrinkles.
