Euphoria (software)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Euphoria is a software development kit for computer games developed by NaturalMotion and serves as an engine for animating various objects. It is used, for example, as part of the RAGE engine in Grand Theft Auto IV , Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption .

particularities

While many video games still rely on the so-called ragdoll algorithm for calculating realistically falling bodies or integrate simple animations based on the results of the motion capturing process , Euphoria aims to represent this behavior in a much more realistic and on-the-fly manner. For this purpose, each three-dimensional play figure has virtual muscles and a nervous system . The gestures and reactions of the characters are always different in the event of a fall or a hit by a shot , even if the same scene is played again.
