The European Federation of Psychologists' Associations ( European Federation of Psychologist's Associations , EFPA) is a federation of national professional associations for psychology of European countries. Today it has 37 member organizations (as of July 15, 2017) and represents around 350,000 psychologists in Europe. It was founded in Germany in 1981 (12 founding associations). EFPA is based in Brussels . Affiliated members are the EFPSA (European Federation of Psychology Student's Associations) and the EFPTA (European Federation of Psychology Teachers' Association).

  • The EuroPsy program created a uniform European training standard for academic psychology training.
  • Another task is the adoption of ethical guidelines for the European psychologist associations, which should form the basis of the professional activity of psychologists and which are to be implemented in national ethical guidelines (see also: Ethics Committee ).
  • In addition, further European standards are being developed:

The organization publishes the journal European Psychologist , which is also the official organ of EFPA.

The organization is presided over by an Executive Council. The president (2015–2019) is Telmo Mourinho Baptista (Portugal). Vice-presidents are Robertas Povilaitis (2011 to 2019, Lithuania) and Christoph Steinebach (2015 to 2019, Germany), Christoph Steinebach represents the German-speaking countries as a delegate of the BDP from 2011 to 2015, from 2015 as treasurer of the German-speaking countries in the executive committee.

Member associations in the German-speaking area are the Federation of German Psychologists' Associations , the Federation of Swiss Psychologists , the Professional Association of Austrian Psychologists and the Professional Association of Psychologists of Liechtenstein .
