Game description

The target rings are around the right solution location. The coordinates for the correct line position are on the quiz card.

Quirky and funny questions about European geography and history challenge the players' knowledge and gut feeling. The more precisely you can circle the target on the silent map , the more points the player can score. The destination is shown on the map with the coordinate strings. Because of this crosshair, the game was also given the alternative name "Im Fadenkreuz Europa".

Game material

  • 12 marker rings in 4 colors and 3 sizes
  • 6 game pieces
  • 1 cube
  • 1 game board
  • 2 coordinate cords
  • 110 question cards

regulate

Each player receives three guessing rings in different sizes. A player reads out one of the 220 questions, whereupon all players try to locate the place that the question is about. The solutions can represent both places and countries. To do this, the players place one of their guess rings where they think the solution is.

Then the coordinate strings attached to the edge of the playing field are connected to the coordinates on the game board on the back of the playing cards in order to display the correct solution at their intersection.

All those players who have placed their guessing ring in such a way that the intersection of the cords is inside will now receive - depending on the ring size used - 2 to 5 points.

In order to bring more variety into the game, a dice has also been integrated that can change the rating of the game round. This can be done by doubling the number of points or changing the pace of the game. In this case, in addition to the accuracy of the solution, the speed of placement also counts.

Extensions / versions

In 2009 the edition Deutschland-Wissen was published by Noris . In this edition the target area of the players is Germany. 110 cards with 220 questions have to be solved for the 1-4 players.

Further information

For the first time in the history of games, a completely new control mechanism is used for European knowledge. The coordinate cords are used for self-control via a two-part mechanism that requires information from the playing cards as well as the game board. This avoids answering the question by reading the solution on the back of the card.

The game was originally supposed to appear under the name "Im Fadhreuz Europa". However, the title has been changed due to educational considerations.

The game was originally intended to be playable for up to 6 players. However, the publisher decided to minimize the number of players. Since the game was already in production when this decision was made and the suppliers were producing for 6 players, the first edition included figures for six players. These excess game pieces are also shown on the cover.

reception

The game was tested and rated in the 4/2008 issue of Spielbox magazine.
