Eurosatory
The Eurosatory is an armaments fair that takes place every two years north of Paris in Villepinte . The focus is on army and airborne technology . It is organized in collaboration with the French Ministry of Defense. The name comes from the Versailles garrison district Satory.
history
The forerunners of the Eurosatory were annual exhibitions organized by the French Army in the 1950s and 1960s through its Section Technique de l'Armée de Terre (STAT). From 1967 the organizations "French Defense Procurement Agency (DGA)" and "French company for armament equipment (SOFMA)" organized events on the Satory military site. From 1992 the event took place in Le Bourget under the private management of GICAT (French Land Defense Manufacturers Association) . Due to the further growth of the exhibition, it was moved to Paris-Nord, Villepinte Parc des Expositions in 2002.
