Erich Marks
Erich Marks (born June 22, 1954 in Bielefeld ) is a German educator, managing director of the German Prevention Day .
Life
After graduating from high school, Erich Marks studied education, psychology and philosophy at Bielefeld University between 1973 and 1980 . From 1980 to 1983 he was the founding managing director of Brücke Köln eV and from 1983 to 2001 federal managing director of the DBH (Federal Association for Social Work, Criminal Law and Criminal Policy) in Bonn. In 2001/2002 he was the founding managing director of the German Forum for Crime Prevention Foundation (DFK). He has been managing director and board member of DVS and its German Prevention Days gGmbH for many years . From 2002 to 2019 Erich Marks was Managing Director of the Lower Saxony State Prevention Council in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Justice .
Act
Crime prevention at the national level as well as in the area of international cooperation are the main focus of Erich Marks' work. He is / was, among other things, executive board member of the German Foundation for Crime Prevention and Criminal Assistance (DVS), Vice President of the Confederation of European Probation (CEP), Vice President of the European Forum for Urban Security (EFUS) based in Paris, Vice President Member of the International Center for the Prevention of Crime (ICPC) based in Montreal, board member of the Criminological Research Institute Lower Saxony (KFN) and chairman of the Pro Kind foundation based in Hanover.
