Eurymedusa (mother of Myrmidon)
Eurymedusa ( Greek Εὐρυμέδουσα ) is a figure in Greek mythology .
She was a daughter of the Arcadian prince Kleitor and granddaughter of Azan . The god father Zeus made her happy in the form of an ant (μύρμηξ, Myrmex ), after which she gave birth to him Myrmidon , the progenitor of the Myrmidons .
According to another twist on the legend, Myrmex was the name of her mortal husband, and Zeus took his appearance in order to approach her.
