Eusebio Rodolfo Cordón Cea (born December 16, 1899 in Juayúa , Sonsonante , † January 9, 1966 in Mejicanos ) was President of El Salvador from January 25, 1962 to June 30, 1962 .

Life

His parents were Rosaura Cea Jimenéz and Daniel Cordón Salguero. He was married to Blanca Luna. His daughters were Dra. Enriqueta Cordón de Henríquez, Elba Luz Cordón de Castillo and Rosario Cordón de Marenco. His son was Rodolfo Cordón Luna. He studied law and was a member of the Partido de Conciliación Nacional .

On September 12, 1961, the Directorio Cívico-Militar of Colonel Aníbal Portillo, Colonel Julio Adalberto Rivera Carballo and the like, passed a new electoral law. On December 17, 1961, a constituent assembly was elected. All 54 seats were given to the military party Partido de Conciliación Nacional . Left parties had been made illegal or not on the electoral roll. This constituent assembly elected Cordón as president. The constituent assembly was renamed Parliament and acted as the legislature until new elections in 1964 and 1966 respectively.

In April 1962, Julio Adalberto Rivera Carballo was the only candidate for the presidential election. The 1960 constitution provided for a presidential term of five years.
