Eva Bruehl

Eva Brühl (* 1971 in Wiesbaden ) is a German polo player . She is (as of 2017) the best German polo player with a handicap of 2.

Life

Eva Brühl discovered polo at the age of 19 while on vacation in Sotogrande, Spain . From 1990 she studied sports science in Mainz, where there was no opportunity to play polo. After a polo taster course in Ebreichsdorf, Austria, she moved her studies to Vienna and became a member of the Ebreichsdorf polo club, where she played for two years. Then she switched to the Chiemsee polo club Ising . She followed her partner Alberto Leal (handicap +3), a member of the Ising polo club. In 2006 she finished her studies and moved her center of life to the Chiemsee . Since 2005 she has been running her own breeding stud with the Chiemsee Polo Stud . In addition, she and her partner have been running a polo farm with horse breeding in Argentina since 1998 .

Eva Brühl successfully takes part in many German tournaments. She gained international experience as a polo player in Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Austria and Argentina. There she trains during the German winter break and plays numerous medium and high goal tournaments, as well as women's tournaments.

In 2008 she was the only woman to take part in the European Championship in the German team. In 2008 Eva Brühl's official DPV handicap was +1, in Argentina she has a handicap of +6 for all women’s tournaments. In 2011 she received a handicap of +2, which is the highest handicap that a German player could achieve. This makes her one of the 15 best women polo players in the world. Eva Brühl is a steward of the German Polo Association and a member of the Handicap Commission.

Eva Brühl has been the mother of a son since 2005.
