Eva Theresa Mylott Gibson (born September 16, 1875 in Tuross Head , New South Wales , † March 20, 1920 in Chicago ) was an Australian opera singer ( contra-alto ).

Mylott received an early vocal training and was a successful singer in Sydney in the late 19th century. In 1902 she took a trip to Europe. There she met Nellie Melba , who put her in contact with her teacher Mathilde Marchesi . In 1914 she appeared with Nellie Melba at the Metropolitan Opera and went on a concert tour with her cousin, the singer Marie Narelle (Molly Ryan) . In 1916 she gave a concert with the violinist Edwin Grasse in New York's Aeolian Hall . In 1917 she married the businessman John Hutton Gibson. Their son Hutton Peter Gibson, born in 1918, is the father of actor and director Mel Gibson .
