Eva Schütte

Eva Hedwig Laura Schütte (born October 25, 1914 in Berlin ; † January 26, 1998 in Bremen ) was a German politician ( FDP ) and a member of the Bremen citizenship .

Life

Family and work

Schütte was the daughter of the liberal Dr. Loefler. She grew up in Berlin and the family moved to Heilbronn in 1929 , where she graduated from high school in 1933. As an au pair girl, she then gained life experience in Spain. She then completed an apprenticeship as a photo laboratory technician and worked in this profession. In 1938 she married Walter Schütte and both moved to Berlin. They had three children. In 1943 the family evacuated to a place near Bremen; The family had lived in Bremen since 1950.

politics

In 1959 Schütte became a member of the FDP and soon afterwards chairman of the FDP women's group in Bremen.

From 1967 to 1979 she was a member of the Bremen citizenship for the FDP for twelve years and worked in various deputations and committees of the citizenship, including the deputation for education and from 1975 to 1979 in central planning. During the educational reforms in Bremen in the 1970s, she advocated cautious reforms in the integration of school levels. From 1975 to 1979 she was Secretary of the City Council. She tended to be one of the left-liberal politicians in the FDP. She was also a member of the tourist association from 1967 to 1971.

She was involved in the Bremen Women's Committee (BFA). From 1967 to 1973 she was chairwoman of the BFA. Her successor was Hannelore Spies (CDU). In the BFA she fought for the legal and actual equality of women in society. After 1973 she represented the BFA in the Broadcasting Council of Radio Bremen until 1977 .
