Hannelore Spies

Hannelore Spies , b. Weber (born March 21, 1918 in Bremen ; † November 11, 1986 in Bremen) was a German educator and politician ( CDU ) in Bremen and a member of the Bremen citizenship .

biography

Family, education and work

Spies was the daughter of a master gardener. In 1939 she obtained her Abitur at the Kippenberg-Gymnasium in Bremen. From 1940 to 1945 she studied to become a teacher with subjects in biology and history at the University of Hamburg , the University of Freiburg and the University of Strasbourg and was an active member of the Nazi student union from 1940 to 1943 during this time . She passed her examination in February 1945 in Göttingen.
From 1946 to 1952 she worked as a student councilor.

Spies was married and had two children.

politics

Spies had been a member of the CDU in Bremen since the 1950s. Here she campaigned for women's political demands such as divorce law and for better education and training opportunities for girls.

From 1967 to 1979 she was a member of the Bremen Citizenship for around 12 years and worked in various deputations and committees of the citizenship, such as the Deputations for Education. She was education policy spokeswoman in the CDU parliamentary group.

Women's Committee

Spies has been involved in the non-partisan Bremen women's committee since the 1950s . She was a member of the board and its long-time chairman from 1973 to 1979 as successor to Eva Schütte (FDP) and from 1981 to 1983. One focus of her work was to draw attention to the problem of abuse of women. She campaigned for the establishment of women's shelters in Bremen. In 1980 she was elected to the Broadcasting Council of Radio Bremen for the women's committee .
