Eva Schmitt-Rodermund

Eva Schmitt-Rodermund (* 1964 in Herne ) is a German psychologist . She has been President of the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences since January 2019 .

Life

Schmitt-Rodermund studied psychology at the University of Gießen and then worked as a research assistant, first in Gießen, then since 1995 at the Institute for Psychology at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena . In 1997 she did her doctorate there and worked first as a lecturer , then as a research assistant at the institute until 2005. In 2003 she completed her habilitation . Since 2005 she has been working primarily in the university administration in Jena, initially as a department head for academic and student affairs , and since 2010 also as deputy chancellor . In addition, she has held a professorship for psychology at the university since 2012 . In June 2018 she was elected President of the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences and started work there in early 2019. She lives with her husband in Potsdam.

Work and research

Schmitt-Rodermund researches mainly in the field of developmental psychology . Her work there deals with the acculturation and personal development of young immigrants, but also with the development of entrepreneurial personalities. In addition, she deals with university administration and science management.
