Jean-François Le Corre

Jean-François Le Corre (* 1965 in Quimper ) is a French film producer . He is co-founder of the film production company Vivement lundi! .

Life

Le Corre graduated from school in 1983 with a Baccalauréat Scientifique. This was followed by a degree in economics at the University of West Brittany in Brest , which he completed with the Diplôme d'études universitaires générales , and information and communication science at the University of Rennes 2 with the successful degree Maîtrise (equivalent to the master’s degree) . During his time in Rennes, he began to be interested in film production.

At the time of the fall of the Wall, Le Corre worked briefly for the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs in Germany and then worked until 1992 as a press officer for film and at various film festivals in Brittany . From 1992 to 1994 he worked under Michel Guilloux as production manager for the film production company Lazennec Bretagne . His first short animated film, which he helped develop for years in the role of a producer, was Laurent Gorgiard 's L'homme aux bras ballants , which was released in 1998 and received the special prize of the jury of the Festival d'Animation Annecy .

In April 1998, carried liquidation of Lazennec Brittany . That same month, Le Corre founded the film production company Vivement lundi! In Rennes with Valérie Malavielle ! , with whom he has been making animated films and documentaries ever since. In 2004 the company expanded and moved into an 80 square meter studio, where stop-motion films have been made since then . One of Le Corre's biggest projects was the stop-motion series Dimitri , which was filmed until 2014 , which also included a television film and in which up to 120 people worked on 15 different sets.

For Sous tes doigts by director Marie-Christine Courtès , Le Corre was nominated for a César in the category Best Animated Short Film in 2016 ; Another César nomination took place in 2019 for the short film Schattenseiten . For Bruno Collet's animated short film Mémorable , Le Corre received an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Short Film in 2020 .
