Eva von Liège (* around 1190; † 1265 in Liège , Belgium ) is a blessed member of the Roman Catholic Church. She was a recluse and joined Juliana von Lüttich (1192–1258) in the public procession on the feast of Corpus Christi .

Life

After a short worldly life, Eva followed the advice of her friend Juliana von Kornelienberg and allowed herself to be locked up at the Martinskirche in Liège; “She lived in her cell entirely of adoration of the Most Holy; in addition, she made paraments for the church. Adoration

Immediately after her death, saints were worshiped, and her bones were raised in 1542 , and have been in a shrine since 1622 . She found her final resting place in St. Martin's Church in Liège, where her relics are still to this day . Other relics are kept in Ghent and Antwerp . Pope Leo XIII. (1878–1903) beatified her on May 1, 1902. Her liturgical feast day is June 4th, her feast day in Liège is celebrated on March 14th.
