The chapel in Altenbrunslar

The Evangelical Chapel Altenbrunslar is a listed church building in Altenbrunslar , a district of Felsberg in the Schwalm-Eder district ( Hesse ).

The small Romanesque building was probably built around the turn of the 11th to the 12th century. It was changed in the late Gothic period and expanded to include a rectangular choir . The roof turret and the windowless half-timbered upper storey above the nave date from 1681. The upper storey was probably formerly used as a fruit store .

The bell in the roof turret is said to come from the Brechelsdorf desert around 1 km to the northeast . It has, in Gothic minuscule , the inscription: In the year of the lord 1487, hail Mary . But since Brechelsdorf had already fallen in desolation around the turn of the 14th to the 15th century, there is doubt about this assumption.

Immediately north of the chapel is the village cemetery.
