Brechelsdorf

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Breaking Elsdorf is a well already at the turn of the 14th and 15th century desolate fallen settlement in today's district of Altenbrunslar , a northern district of Felsberg in northern Hesse Schwalm-Eder-Kreis .

The village was about 250  m above sea level. NHN about 1 km northeast of Altenbrunslar east (right) above the Eder on the summit plateau in today's Markwald . It is mentioned in 1319 as Brecholdisdorf and in 1360 as Frekolsdorf , appears in 1418 and 1419 as Brekelstorff , Brechtoldistorf and Brechelsdorf , but is described as desolate as early as 1410. The last mention is in the year 1579 in the Salbuch von Breitenau , in which the place is referred to as a desert hut with farmstead built from Brunslar (Altenbrunslar) .

In 1848 funeral urns were found at the site . A field name directory from the 1930s contains the dialect field name Brächelsdorf .

The bell in the ridge of the Evangelical Chapel in Altenbrunslar is said to come from the church in Brechelsdorf; the year in its inscription calls this into question: in the year of the lord 1487, hail Mary .
