The Evangelical Chapel in Dasbach

The Dasbach Evangelical Chapel at Kirchstrasse 8 is a hall building built in 1613 in the center of Dasbach , a district of the town of Idstein in the Taunus . Demonstrably which was plastered , a gabled roof having Grade II listed chapel built with roof skylights at the site of a previous building. It is even assumed that the Roman Limes watchtower Wp 3 / 26a once stood at the site of the chapel , which is mainly due to the location in the course of the Limes through the town. There are no finds. The presumption has existed since the time of the Reich Limes Commission and was additionally supported by the large distance between the guard posts 3/26 and 3/27.

It is known that parts of the furnishings were taken over from the church in the neighboring village of Wolfsbach , which was demolished in 1668 . For example, figures of saints made around 1490 by the so-called master with the bib were taken over, which have been stored in the Hessian State Museum in Wiesbaden since 1924 . The church in Wolfsbach also took over the bells and clock. One of the original bells was cast over in Frankfurt after it cracked. The others were melted down in World War I. The bell was replaced in 1921.

The interior is equipped with a flat ceiling supported by a central support . It also has a three-sided gallery with sawn parapets and a pulpit with inlaid panels. The organ was built in 1858 by Friedrich Voigt, Igstadt .
